The colour palette is composed of shades of blue and bright yellow. Blue was chosen to help convey a sense of serenity and trust, as it’s the most universally appealing colour of the spectrum. The sunglasses were painted yellow to bring joy and optimism to the artwork. Together, they give the impression of a bright sunny day and create a feeling of expectancy towards all the good that’s about to come.
The blues and the yellows are also a play on the Ukrainian flag colours. I chose to donate 50% of all profits I make from this piece and the prints directly to an organization my muse chose. I played with the sunglasses and painted smiling suns in the shades to comfort the collector that brighter days are ahead. They are a reminder that keeping a positive attitude is the most important part of life.
