My first step in creating a new piece of art is to put my idea on paper. Half of these are usually amazing, and when they are, I can’t help but share them with my collectors. I then create a 11x14 study on canvas before jumping on the BIG artwork.

Art sketches are created on 8x10 watercolour paper, grounded with 3 layers of clear gesso, and Gamblin handcrafted oil colours, which use only the finest grade of pigments that we can trust for permanence and studio safety. Art sketches are varnished using Gamvar by Gamblin, which saturates colours and gives a unified and protective surface.
